Matt Maddox is a writer and director from Memphis, TN whose love for cinema flouridhed after moving to Los Angeles. His career began as an actor, where he became fascinated with storytelling and the inner workings of the human condition. This curiosity eventually led him behind the lens. Largely self-taught, Matt began writing, directing, and self-funding his own projects, slowly developing his voice as a filmmaker. His latest short, MESS AROUND, which features music from the b-52s, recently premiered at the 2026 Raindance Film Festival.

His films often explore those who live on the fringes of society, interpersonal relationships and struggles of the human soul. Matt hopes to create unique narratives that challenge how we view the world and ultimateky provide solace to those who may feel misunderstood.
